Making dough

 So I normally don't grab my camera for the mundane moments in life but since kids are in school and the rest of the evening is filled with homework, dinner, baths, playing outside, church activities, Bible studies ect pictures are becoming rare. So while we were making pizza dough for dinner I grabbed the camera and took a few shots.

 The kids love helping to make anything. And I love the help with bread products because I can say how many scoops and they will just to that much till I check and tell them how much more to add. I add everything but the flour and they do the rest.  You can't mess dough up too bad and I like the help!

They will be pros in no time!

I know this is blurry, it was taken in a rush on my phone, the next second Lane has moved to get out of the camera shot. But they had cut and made this book and then Rylin laid next to him while he read it to her. I love how sweet these two are with each other!

Lane Birthday with Friends!

 Ok so I am the worlds worst blogger beings his Birthday was the beginning of September and now the end of October I am blogging it but better late than never right? Tell life to SLOW down!

 I had the help of my wonderful daughter Adrienne in getting ready for the party. I picked veggies at my parents till late the night before and then got up at 5:30am to work farmers market to then come home and have people showing up 45 minutes after I walked in the door. All the decor was her idea and a surprise to me!

 First things first after playing for awhile Lane was ready for gifts!

 We did take and bake pizza for everyone to eat! Easy with my schedule and a hit!

 I think I should be worried Adrienne is all about lighting candles!

He made a wish and blew out the candles! It was a great party and he has so much fun!

The little mishap

 So I was in the kitchen making dinner and Rylin was at the table with Adrienne coloring and she starts crying. I go to her and see this. I try carefully to get the crayon off but am having no luck. I call Joe who is was 3 miles away farming for a friend. I needed something to get her mind off of her pinched lip so pulled out my camera and started snapping away. Luckily she is a ham for the camera and Dad was home in no time and she was even smiling by the end of our photo shoot!

 And the after, she had a sore on her lip for a good week. We reported it and she has gotten two packages of goodies from Crayola which is nice. But I don't think she will ever put a twistable in her mouth again after that!

 Adrienne took an old cereal box and made this fun toy for Lane. She also is the one who took all the pictures. : )

 Note the "oil" spill she made this very detailed and had lots of fun doing it! Lane has enjoyed playing with it as well. : )

sleeping babes

So the other day I walk into the living room to find this

  So sweet!

And this is totally not related to this post but had to share it. So a couple weeks ago Lane drew this picture at school

And I looked at it and thought it was cute, told him so and hung it on the china hutch. It hung there awhile and Joe was looking at it one evening and was like why is Sam drinking out of a toilet?

I had not even noticed this before but he totally is! lol

Happy Birthday sweet Lane!

 This picture of him sleeping was taken last week but it was so cute (and what he was doing when I got home from work) I had to include it.

 So we had a busy weekend and next weekend is his friends party but since today was his actual Birthday after I got home from work we had a little celebration with just our family. He had been sleeping like I said so has bed head and clearly looks like he has just woken. I was in trying to nicely wake him up and he was not having any of it and Joe says wanna open presents and he was up like a bolt of lightening! : )

 I love how excited Rylin is for him as he opens presents. Such love between them. I had him open his two smaller gifts tonight and saved his 2 awesome gifts that he has been wanting for his friends party. He was still plenty thrilled with what he opened tonight though!

 Then it was supper time. Lane picked box mac and cheese which worked out great since I worked and am suffering from an ear infection (man they hurt : (  ). I added hotdogs to the meal but he only wanted mac and cheese!

 We enjoyed our simple meal. Lane only ate one plate full, he was saving room for ice cream cake! Another request from the birthday boy!

 He wanted a cake with a race track on it so I got the stuff to make that for his friends party but imagine my surprise when I get to DQ and they have this cake! It was perfect!! I normally make the ice cream cakes around here but have been super busy and didn't have time. I have to say (and we all agree) that mine is way better than Dairy Queen.

 Adrienne wanted to light the candle and I think Lane and Rylin's faces are priceless with worry in this picture! Makes me laugh!

 We sang him Happy Birthday again, we sang it before supper too. Then he made a wish and blew out his candle that he picked out. It was a wonderful little celebration. I can not believe it was 6 years ago that this handsome little boy was brought into my life, feels like yesterday! He is such a caring tender young man he warms my heart on a daily basis.
