~*~ Christmas ~*~

There is nothing better on Christmas morning to walk out and find a tree overflowing with gifts.
Stocking first!!
Lane and Rylin liked the candy best I think lol.
Adrienne got stuff for her tack and white board including ribbon to dress it up a bit.
Check out Rylin's hair in this picture!! That is her normal morning do these days. Thank goodness Santa brought her hair things to tame that wild mane!
Digging into the real gifts!
Note Adrienne in the back wearing the hat and scarf I made her : D We did several homemade gifts including scarf and hat sets for each of the kids. They really liked them!
Lane is my jammie obsessed boy. When he comes home from school he always wants to put his jammies back on so I got him 2 cute plaid sets with matching socks. He was in heaven lol.
I still don't know who likes this gift better....or the play dough or legos for that matter. : )
One of the many gifts Adrienne was super excited for was her stuff to get her ears pierced! She has been asking for years to get it done and I finally gave her the ok. lol
And after, she did really well! She sang Hannah Montana while I was doing it to keep her mind off of things.
Rylin made quick work of the candy in her stocking. Can you see her mouth totally full!
Lane with his bath set. Each child got one and it included a knit fish for the tub, soap made by me, tub tints, loofa, bubble bath, and a egg that "hatches" in the tub. (Which Lane was terrified of lol)

It was a wonderful Christmas!!!

The dreaded flu...

There is nothing worse than having the flu during the holidays but don't they look so cute all ready for bed with extra bedding, towels and barf buckets. The flu ended up hitting almost everyone that attended family Christmas. : (

Luckily it was short lived and by the next day they were good as new!

Cookies!!!

Adrienne's decorated cookies. Everyone got 2 cookies to decorate and eat since they had been sick. Tried not to infect everyone...
Rylin's cookies. Not bad for a 2 year old!

They enjoyed getting to take turns cutting their chosen shapes out for cookies.
Love the look on Rylins face, patiently waiting her turn cookie cutter in hand lol.

Lane taking his turn.
Finely back to Rylins turn.

Spritz cookies Julie and I made. I do have a spritz press but of course could not find it so we used piping bags. I chose this tip and it make cute (I'll bet small) cookies.
Julie used this tip and we got a laugh at her poo piles. She took a fork and pressed them and they came out really cute. Plaid looking.
I love holiday baking. It would have been much funner if the flu didn't go through our house during Christmas but we made the best of it anyways. : )

Kid of Character

Lane got an award at school for being a Kid of Character. They handed them out at doughnuts for dads. He walked right up on the stage alone to his teacher to get his award with a big smile on his face. He was not shy at all which was a surprise to me! He was one proud boy!!

The tradition of making ornaments

Every year we make ornaments, we have done several different kinds but this year was a first for construction paper ornaments and it turned out really cute!
They each got to make several of them, here is one of Adrienne's finished ornaments.
One of Lanes!
And Miss Rylin hot dog and all. lol
Everyone hard at work.

Adrienne really got into it and even made a ornament to give to her counselor.
Lane loved gluing the best I think lol.
On one of her ornaments Rylin used the whole bowl of stars.
I just had to include this picture of my parents dog Maggie because it is so cute! She was sleeping under their dining room table, festive coat and all. : )

Christmas festivities

Ok, so I totally uploaded these pics in the wrong order but do not have the energy to care. So overlook it and enjoy lol. The cute little pictures they made at the library.
Carrying there loot, I thought Rylin looked really cute clutching her bag.

Rylin working on her picture.
Concentration.

They love crafts. They made their pictures, did stories, watched a movie and refused to sit on Santa's lap. lol All in all they had tons of fun!
